The property dates back to the late 1850’s and is reputed to be the original house overlooking what was then St Ives Bowling Green. The house itself is an imposing double fronted end terraced property that has panoramic sea views over the harbour and St Ives Bay.

 

For the 2012 season, parking will be included in the rental cost.

 

By foot it takes approximately 5 minutes to access the Tate Gallery, harbour and shops/restaurants and pick of the town’s beaches.

 

The property has outside amenity space front and back and two on–site parking spaces.

 

This house readily lends itself to the opportunity for two young families to share or the ability to accommodate a large family or friends together.

 

Its location allows you to gain vehicular access without the need to pass directly through the town centre, important if you decide to visit other points of interest during your holiday.

Front

Two parking spaces that are contained within the private curtiledge of the property and secure. Steps from parking area to front access door and remaining frontage laid out to decked area where the early morning sun can be enjoyed with coffee and croissants.

Rear

Access gate from rear lane with ramp to utility door for wheelchair access.

Attractive paved courtyard area that enjoys late afternoon/early evening sun to the benefit of adults and small children alike. This area is very secure and overlooked from the main house.

Beach Hut – outbuilding that adjoins the courtyard and houses a wet room/wc, washbasin and hot shower for use after a hot day on the beach. Storage also for boards, wet suits etc.

Ground Floor

Utility Room

accessed from ramped courtyard, glazed roof, tiled non-slip floor. Houses fitted sink unit, cupboards, washing machine and freezer – overlooks courtyard.

Kitchen / Dining Room

impressive high gloss cream kitchen with black non-slip tiled floor. Electric built-in cooker, gas hob, dishwasher, fridge and wine cooler all built in. Window seating area overlooking the courtyard. Plenty of space for family and friends to congregate.

 

The dining table for 10 people is situated in an open plan area with the main kitchen and the floor is finished in solid oak wide floorboards. Wall and furniture colours have been carefully coordinated to achieve a mellow atmosphere in this space. The main front bay window pours light into the dining area, particularly in the morning at breakfast.

Front Entrance Hallway

the front door opens into an inner doorway, the original patterned floor tiles have been retained to the base of the impressive curved stairs. There is a cloakroom with wc and hand basin off the hallway.

The stairs are masked by a full length window that almost spans the ground and first floor. This window overlooks the courtyard area and beyond.

Lounge / TV & Reading Area

Imposing room that runs front to back of the house, the floor being finished in solid oak wide floorboards, with high ceilings. The flat screen TV area is served by black leather contemporary settees that look onto an 8ft beamed open fireplace with African black marble hearth.

 

The reading area is also finished in black leather chairs and cream leather sofa with a rear window overlooking the courtyard area.

 

The choice of wall colours and furnishings match those selected in the dining area

First Floor

Landing

High imposing ceilings that are punctuated by spotlights illuminating the stairwell and feature window. The stairs are fully carpeted as is the 1st floor landing.

Family Bathroon

Free-standing feature bath, twin square bowls on marble base, wc and walk-in shower. Fully tiled floor, polished feature fireplace and colours selected to create a peaceful and relaxing ambiance. Heated towel rail, subtle lighting.

Bedrooms One & Two

Both on front of property with early sun and considered to be generously proportioned. King size beds, fitted wardrobes, side tables and great sea views. Original floor boards to finish.

Bedroom Three

On rear of property, overlooking courtyard. Good sized room with fitted wardrobes. Twin beds, side tables and original floor board finish.

Bedroom Four

On front of property, a room of smaller proportions that has original floor boards and is furnished with full size bunk beds.

 

Further storage for hanging space is provided under the stair space on the landing.

Bedroom Five

Reached by way of second staircase from the 1st floor landing space leading directly to this sizeable bedroom within the roof that is illuminated all round by feature dormer windows. Sea views to the front are absolutely fantastic. King size bed, fitted hanging space, side tables, separate en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin and wc.
